I teach all levels from an absolute beginner to professionals who are looking to take their career further or to be picked up on bad habits.

Yes. I teach both electric and acoustic guitar and the choice of which to learn is completely up to you.

Absolutely, I teach all age groups and pride myself on the specially designed guitar lessons for children I have developed over the years. They are extra fun. Over the years I have taught loads of young students. I am fully CRB checked and have worked as a cover teacher in a local Plymouth secondary school for over two years.

I teach the majority of my guitar students from my home studio located in Plymouth (PL2 2DH). It is a great place to learn to play the guitar, in a relaxing and positive environment, as well as great transport links. To find my location on Google Maps simply click on the map below on the page.

Alternatively, I am also a mobile teacher so can travel to your home to teach you if you live within Plymouth city boundaries (thought additional charges may apply - for more information simply get in touch). Whichever location works best for you is great for me.

There are plenty of free parking spaces on the road along the house. You shouldn't have any issues with finding a space.

Certainly, I have taken many students through the Rockschool electric guitar grading exams with fantastic success. I can take students right up to Grade 8 if needed.

Not at all, the guitar is just as much about playing as a hobby or in a band than simply taking grades each year. I teach many guitar students how are more than happy to work through songs they like and the choice of what we learn is completely up to you. Whether it is Hannah Montana or Muse we will play the music you are passionate about during our guitar lessons.

Generally speaking, seven and above is a good age to begin learning guitar, however, I have taught students as young as five so have developed a range of lessons specially designed for younger children.

I have vast experience in most styles but specialise in pop, rock, funk, soul and blues.

Please note that Guitar Lessons Plymouth operates a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. This means that if a lesson is cancelled within 24 hours of the arranged time the student will be charged the full price of the lesson. Should you need to cancel a lesson please contact me at your earliest opportunity to re-arrange.
